John McCook (who plays Eric Forrester) and Katherine Kelly Lang are the only two cast members who have been with the show since its first episode on March 23, 1987. (Brooke Logan). Two of the “core four” original cast members who were on the show for the first 25 years were McCook and Lang. The other two were Ronn Moss and Susan Flannery (Stephanie Forrester) (Ridge Forrester). After Moss left the show for good in August 2012, the role of Ridge was eventually given to someone else.
Later that year, when Flannery also said she would be leaving the show, it was decided that Stephanie’s character would die from cancer. Donna Logan and Katie Logan, two other original characters who are still on the show, have also had their roles change since it first aired.
