The sweet feel-good Alison Sweeney and Marc Blucas starred in a TV Hallmark movie that aired for the first time in 2016. It is based on Mary Simses’s book “The Irresistible Blueberry Bookshop and Café,” which was turned into a movie. The story is about a lawyer in New York named Ellen Branford, who seems to have a pretty good life. On paper, her boyfriend is perfect, and he just asked her to marry him.

Before she could answer, she got a letter from her grandmother, who had died. In the letter, Chet asks Ellen to go to Beacon, Maine, and give him a letter in person. So, Ellen has an experience that will change her life.

As Ellen tries to find Chet’s address, she is in for a big adventure. Fans loved how slowly the story moved, how well the main characters got along, and how sweet and good the script was. People liked how mysterious Ellen’s late grandmother Ruth seemed to be, and they were moved by the main character’s journey of finding herself.

The movie is another badge of success for the director Kristoffer Tabori and has become the favorite of many Hallmark household collections. The Irresistible Blueberry Farm Filming Locations are mostly in Canada. It began in Vancouver, Canada, on 24 July 2016, with Geoff Dood as the location manager.

From July 24 to August 14, 2016, they shot the movie. Mary Simses, who wrote the book that the movie is based on, was on the set for the first two days of filming. She wrote in great detail about her time with the fun and talented cast on her website. The movie came out September 30, 2016. Hallmark Movies & Mysteries Channel showed the movie.

Brackendale & Vancouver

On her website, the author Mary Simses said that filming started in a “pretty yellow house” in Brackendale, a town near Vancouver. The main character’s grandmother, Ruth, lives in this house in Beacon, which was chosen by the moviemakers. Ruth grew up in this house when she was a child. This house was where both the scenes with Susan Porter in the attic and Shirley Jones as Ruth’s ghost were filmed.

The second place close by was a cute bed and breakfast where Ellen stayed the first time she came to Beacon. They chose The Victory Inn for this place. This is also where the scene where Ellen’s mother Cynthia surprises her in The Irresistible Blueberry Farm was filmed.

Gibsons, British Columbia

The small coastal town of Gibsons, British Columbia, was chosen to be the movie version of the book’s Beacon in Maine. Since most of the movie was shot here, it is easy to figure out where these places are. Roy’s house in the movie was filmed on a brown houseboat with white trim, which was also the house of the male lead. This is also where Ellen would read Roy the letter from her grandmother who had died. They also used the pier for a few scenes.

Molly’s Reach, at 647 School Road in Gibsons, British Columbia, was one place that even IMDB took note of. This is a small place that serves burgers and milkshakes most of the time. This is the restaurant at the end of the street in Beacon that you see in the movie. This little restaurant has been in a few movies and TV shows, including Charlie St. Cloud, Needful Things, and “The Beachcombers.”

Sunshine Coast

On the Sunshine Beach Facebook Page, a few people started to talk about why this beach looked so familiar. The moviemakers also picked this place because it looked and felt like a small seaside town. This beach has been used in a few Hallmark movies to stand in for New England.

Where did the movie “The Irresistible Blueberry Farm” get filmed? Alison Sweeney is playing as Ellen looks around her grandmother’s house.
