Liv Hill as Young Catherine in The Episode 3 Of The Serpent Queen Preview
In The Serpent Queen, a new darkly funny historical drama on Starz, one of history’s most hated rulers, Catherine de’ Medici, tells her life story to one of her slaves, Rahima, in 16th-century France. The new series is like anything from Yorgos Lanthimos’s The Favorite to Hulu’s The Great, which just came out. It is a biography that is, in many ways, typical of our time. It has a modern soundtrack and a lot of formal quirks, like frequent breaks in the fourth wall.
The Serpent Queen Episode 2 Recap
Episode 1 of The Serpent Queen tells us about Catherine’s past and shows how, despite being told over and over again how ugly she is, she manages to win Henry’s and the French court’s favour by wearing nice clothes and promising a large dowry. Episode 2, “To War Rather Than to Bed,” plants the seeds of political turmoil when an interesting but secret conflict breaks out at court.
Rahima forms an odd bond with the queen and learns some of the lessons she has to teach. In the current episode, she beats up her racist bully, while Mathilde takes what she wants from the Dauphin.

Still from The Serpent Queen Episode 2 ( Ludivine Sagnier as Diane de Poitiers)
While this is going on, Henry keeps showing Diane de Poitiers his love while staying away from Catherine. This is because Catherine found out that Henry was having a sexual relationship with her cousin Diane de Poitiers.
Even though the politics of the time were sexist and misogynistic, The Serpent Queen is surprisingly pro-women. This is because the show is run by women. Catherine and Diane’s sharp thinking keeps Henri, who is young and easily swayed, in check.
The Serpent Queen Season 1 Episode 3: Spoilers and Preview
The third episode of The Serpent Queen is called “The Price,” which suggests that someone will have to pay for what they want. This one will have high stakes, political squabbling, and the kind of pressure that women in this time period had to deal with.

Still from The Serpent Queen Episode 3 Trailer
The third episode of The Serpent Queen will go back in time to show how a young girl turned into a smart and scary queen. For a long time, women were put under almost constant pressure to have children who would be heirs. Any way you look at it, Catherine is under the same amount of pressure to get pregnant. It doesn’t match up with what she’s worth. Since Henry is staying away from her, she will have to find another way to get pregnant or find another man. After this, some of the most horrifying cases will be brought to you by King Henry VIII.
During all of this, we’ll see Rahima get stronger every week because of what Catherine is teaching her, and maybe Young Catherine and Suleiman the Magnificent will join forces.
Let’s see what the synopsis of Episode 3 of The Serpent Queen Season say
In The Serpent Queen Season 1 Episode 3, Catherine went to France because of a deal made by her uncle. Since her dowry was the only thing that kept her in France, she needs to think of new ways to stay at the French court.
She has a very hard time trying to convince everyone, especially the King, that a better woman for Henry shouldn’t replace her right away. The King already seems to like her, and at the end of the episode, he makes it clear that she shouldn’t be underestimated. This gives her an edge in this situation.
